Drogba to mentor Hazard’s rise at Chelsea

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is happy with his role as mentor to Eden Hazard and hopes to help the Belgian to become one of the club’s greatest players.

Hazard has been hitting the highs at Chelsea in recent seasons, having become a key figure in Jose Mourinho’s side and the Portuguese boss is confident that he can become a great player at the club if he continues to improve.

Drogba, who returned to Stamford Bridge this summer after a spell with Turkish giants Galatasaray – has taken up a role of mentor to the tricky playmaker and the Ivorian striker has discussed his delight in being called on the help.

“Yes, I think so. Even if the team is young, you can see we have quite a lot of qualities and experience in the game as well,” Drogba said when questioned by media about his off-field role at the club.

“Yes, I’m here to help but I’m also here to show, if I can say that, to show them the spirit.

“Even if I don’t have any doubt about their desire to win, I’m here to help and I will give what I can.

“I’m preparing myself to give something extra to the team and achieve what we want to achieve.”
