Roma and Porto score big, Barca beat APOEL

It was goals galore in the Champions League as Roma and Porto both scored big, whilst Barcelona beat a resilient APOEL.

We start in Amsterdam as Ajax and Paris Saint Germain battled it out for three points and it looked as though the latter would be the winning side after Edinson Cavani put them ahead on 14 minutes, but Lasse Schone equalised in the second half to share the spoils.

In the other group game, Barcelona were at home to APOEL and boss Luis Enrique used the game to blood some of the club’s younger upcoming players, starting with Sergi Roberto and Sergi Samper in midfield, whilst Munir El Haddadi kept his place up front.

However, it would be none of those that scored the only goal of the game, but rather Gerard Pique who headed the Catalan side to three points.

Meanwhile, Roma cruised to a 5-1 win over Russian side CSKA Moscow with Gervinho (2), Maicon, Juan Iturbe and Alessandro Florenzi scoring the goals.

Porto went one better through as they beat BATE Borisov 6-0 thanks to a superb performance from Brahimi, who netted three, whilst Jackson Martinez was also amongst the scorers.

Athletic Bilbao were held to a 0-0 draw by Shakhtar Donestk in Bilbao, whilst Sporting Lisbon battled for a point with Maribor.
