James Rodriguez has insisted that his relationship with Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘good’ and that he hopes they form a good partnership this season.
The Colombia international joined Real Madrid from AS Monaco this summer after a superb World Cup with Colombia, in which he finished as the competitions leading goalscorer.
Rodriguez, who took the number 10 shirt at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu – will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and despite doubts over their partnership, the former Porto man has insisted that the pair have a ‘good’ relationship.
“I’ve formed a good relationship with him and I hope that we can be together for a long time,” the 23-year-old to the press, “but all of the players are very humble, which is why they are there and why they are great players.”
A debate has since arisen in the Spanish capital regarding his position in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven and he has spoke of his desire to play where he is told.
“I’ll play where the coach wants and I’ll be happy there.”
