Manchester United are ready to make a ‘last-chance’ bid to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, Football Express News understands.
The Premier League side have just completed the signings of Marcos Rojo and Angel Di Maria as new boss Louis van Gaal looks to strengthen his side following a stuttering start to the new season, losing to Swansea City and drawing with Sunderland.
Van Gaal and United have held long-term interest in Chilean midfielder Vidal and have made several bids to his Italian club – Juventus this summer but have failed to reach an agreement.
However, it is understood that officials at Old Trafford are ready to make a ‘last-chance’ bid for the central midfielder.
“The club are hoping that a bid in the region of £40m will force Juve to sell, ” a source close to us said. “Yes, we have a couple of days left but when the club have wanted a player – they have acted quickly this summer.”
