Man City sign Bacary Sagna from Arsenal

Bacary-Sagna

Manchester City have completed the free transfer of Bacary Sagna from Arsenal on a three-year contract.

The 31-year-old French international is currently preparing to represent his county at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but a deal with Manchester City has now been completed after the completion of an agreement that took place during the final month of the Premier League season.

Sagna joined Arsenal in July 2007, when he arrived from French side Auxerre for £6m and he has since made 284 appearances for the Gunners.

However, despite the club wanting him to remain, reports of high contract demands put an end to any chance of a renewal, prompting City to swoop for the defender.

Sagna follows a string of former Arsenal players, who have made a similar move to Man City, with Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Kolo Toure all doing the same.
