Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela is keen to move forward following his impressive start to the season.
The 22-year-old struggled last season to impress and saw his time on the pitch reduced due to injury, however, his impressive first start of the season against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend has seen pundits and media men close to game question if the former Roma forward is now back to his best.
And, the player himself is keen to push on from a good performance and play a key part in Spurs’ season.
“The assists weren’t the whole of my game [against QPR],” he told the club’s official website. “They were just one small part of it.
“I didn’t score but I hope in the next games I will. I worked very hard for the team and the assists were just the icing on the cake.”
Tottenham face their return leg against AEL on Thursday before Liverpool visit White Hart Lane in the Premier League at the weekend.
