Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has backed new signing Mario Balotelli to become an even bigger star at Anfield this season.
The Merseyside club sealed a deal for Balotelli from AC Milan just hours before the Premier League defeat to Manchester City on Monday evening and are now ready to include him in their side for the Sunday tie with Tottenham Hotspur.
The 24-year-old returns to England after a two year break following his departure from Man City to Milan and is relishing the chance of playing in front of the Kop at Anfield and new team-mate Jordan Henderson believes he will become a big star at the club.
“Everyone is looking forward to working with Mario,” Henderson told the Liverpool Echo.
“He’s a very talented striker and a big player. Hopefully he’s give us all a big lift and be able to play some part in the next game.
“He was in the dressing room before the game wishing everyone luck.
“Hopefully he can get a week’s training under his belt and be involved against Tottenham.”
