Liverpool attacker Lazar Markovic believes he can become one of the Premier League’s best ever players this season.
The forward man moved to Anfield in a £20m move this summer after helping Portuguese club Benfica to a treble winning season and he has sent a warning to Premier League opposition ahead of what could be his debut in Monday night’s tie with Manchester City.
Speaking to the Mirror, the 20-year-old said that he is ready to help Liverpool improve on their second place finish last season.
“I am ready to play straight away, I can become one of the best players in the Premier League.
“Perhaps I am so confident because in every season I have played I have finished as a champion.
“I thought that Liverpool were the best team last season and, yes, I thought they should have been champions. Luck played a part in the outcome of the title.”
