Santi Cazorla has warned his Arsenal team-mates to ignore the atmosphere as they face Besiktas in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Arsene Wenger’s side face Turkish side Besiktas on Tuesday night as they aim to qualify for the Champions League group stages, but Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla has warned his team-mates to ignore the atmosphere inside the Inonu Stadium and return to London with a good first leg result.
“Turkish football is lived with passion, even more so when it comes to a Champions League playoff. This cannot affect us, though,” he told the club’s official website.
“We will go there to play football, thinking about what we have to do and trying to separate ourselves from the atmosphere.”
Arsenal started their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Saturday thanks to goals from Laurent Koscielny and Cazorla.
