Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has insisted that his club have now chance of signing Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus, saying that if he rejected Manchester United then the Spanish champions had ‘no chance’.

Reus, was one of the most consistent performers in European football last season and he attracted interest from a number of top clubs across the continent, leading to the likes of Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United and Barcelona to be credited.

Atletico Madrid have also been linked but their president Enrique Cerezo believes their chances of signing the German international are slim after he rejected a move to Premier League giants Man United.

“I don’t know where the Marco Reus rumour came from. It’s a player who, at this time, is impossible to us. Look, he had an offer for a lot of money from Manchester United and he has not gone… we will not sign him with a lesser offer”.

The admission comes just one day after Bayern Munich honorary president Franz Beckenbauer told reporters that Reus could join Man United next summer.
