Rakitic: Suarez will give us some great moments

New Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has discussed the arrival of Luis Suarez at the club and said that he expects some great moments from the striker.

The former Liverpool man was cleared to train with his new club Barcelona last week and he made his debut in the Joan Gamper win over Leon on Monday evening.

Suarez, who arrived in the Catalonia under a huge amount of criticism after he bit the shoulder of Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay’s World Cup game with Italy, is not allowed to play a competitive match until October 26th.

But, another new signing Ivan Rakitic believes that his inclusion in training has been a good thing and that he expects the former Ajax man to bring many great moments to the club.

“For us it is very important to have him in the locker room, working, getting to know him,” the Croatia international told reporters.

“His quality we all know, there’s not much to say there, he’s going to give us a lot of great moments. So we just have to wait for the time to pass so we can have him on the pitch with us.”

Meanwhile, Luis Enrique claimed that his side’s win over the Mexican champions will give them an added boost ahead of their opening La Liga game with Elche on Sunday.

“Well, it think the performance against Leon was very good,” the 44-year-old said. “It’s not very difficult when two players of such quality play together, like Messi and Neymar.

“We didn’t have Pedro, who wasn’t able to play because of a stomach problem but I have many solutions, many possibilities, players with different profiles, and we are looking to have those connection between players of great quality.”
