Crystal Palace set to announce Sherwood as boss

Football Express News understands that Tim Sherwood is set to become the new Crystal Palace boss, with paperwork set to be signed.

Former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood immediately became a name on the shortlist for the role of new Palace boss after Tony Pulis ended his time at the club just two days before the new Premier League season.

And, after negotiations between the former midfielder and the London club, it is now understood that a deal will be complete in the next 24 hours.

Sherwood is expected to take Les Ferdinand, his former assistant at White Hart Lane when he lands the job at Selhurst Park.

Sherwood is said to have beaten the likes of Chris Hughton and Malky Mackay to the role and is expected to undertake training later this week.

Replaced by Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, Sherwood was sacked hy Spurs and rejected the chance to take over at West Bromwich Albion over the summer.
