Madrid boss tips Bale for best season yet

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti hailed his Welsh winger Gareth Bale one of the best players in the world and believes him to be key to their multi-trophy win campaign this season.

Bale, 25, completed his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Spanish giants Madrid last summer for a jaw-dropping fee of £85m.

He appeared to settle into his new team quickly and proved a valuable part of the all-star side throughout the season, having netted 22 goals over 40 appearances for Los Blancos and scoring in the 4-1 Champions League final win over local rivals Atletico Madrid.

A player famous for his lightening pace as well as his play-making skill and finishing ability, Bale is tipped to make an even bigger stamp on this side during their upcoming domestic and European runs and his boss Ancelotti believes the Bernabau faithful have not even seen the best of him yet.

“Gareth had a fantastic season last year without pre-season and to be in condition took time,” the Italian coach told ESPN.

“This season is different, he knows the atmosphere, his team-mates and club and I’m sure he will be better this season.

“He is in perfect condition physically and mentally and I’m sure will do better. He is one of the best players in the world, he is happy here and plays to help the team win titles.”

Real Madrid commence their debut tournament of the 2014/2015 season tonight which is the Super Cup. The side have travelled to Bale’s home town in Cardiff, Wales, where they will play Spanish La Liga rivals Sevilla at the Millenium Stadium.
