Arsenal win Community Shield

Arsenal swept aside Premier League champions Manchester City in the Community Shield, winning 3-0 at Wembley on Sunday.

The Gunners have done well this summer to bolster their side after winning the FA Cup last season and they sent a clear message to the rest of the Premier League by beating champions Man City easily on Sunday afternoon.

Santi Cazorla started the scoring after just 21 minutes when he took full advantage of some sloppy defending and he fired the ball past Willy Caballero.

Arsene Wenger’s side should have made it 2-0 when Yaya Sanogo got sight of goal but his shot could only hit Caballero and deflect wide.

Three minutes remaining in the first half and Arsenal made it 2-0 through Aaron Ramsey, who combined well with Sanogo.

The second half saw both sides make several changes and it was substitute Olivier Giroud who stole the headlines with a thumping second half strike to make it 3-0 and seal the trophy for Arsene Wenger.
