Arsenal fans have taken the news of Cesc Fabregas joining Chelsea in a bad way and some have posted pictures of shirts being burned with his name on.
The Spanish midfielder announced his decision to leave Barcelona and join Chelsea on Wednesday, making a return to the Premier League, just three years after leaving Arsenal, with whom he spent eight years playing for.
Fans of the Gunners took to Twitter in their numbers, promoting pictures of various old Arsenal shirts with the number four and ‘Fabregas’ on the back – being burned and destroyed.
@JamieMRoberts released four photos, with the first showing a framed signed Fabregas shirt on his wall, then then being taken down, then being set alight and then finally – destroyed.
Arsenal fans feel extremely bitter that Fabregas decided to join Chelsea after he made remarks during his time at the club about never wanting to play for their London rivals.
He made 303 appearances for Arsenal during his eight years at the club, before making 151 for his boy-hood club Barcelona.
