Juventus line up double swoop

Juventus have reportedly set their sights on Fiorentina midfielder Juan Cuadrado and remain hopeful of landing Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez.

According to Italian source TuttoSport, the Serie A champions are ready to significantly strengthen their squad during the summer transfer window in an attempt to launch an assault on next season’s Champions League.

They are long-term admirers of Chile international Sanchez and are said to be in pole position to snap him up if the Catalan giants decide they are willing to part company with him.

And they are also tracking Colombia star Cuadrado, who enjoyed a lively 2013-14 campaign with the Viola.
He plundered 13 goals in 38 appearances but also picked up 12 yellow cards and one red under the watchful gaze of club scouts.

The 26-year-old is co-owned by Fiorentina and Udinese and has three years left on his contract, leaving Turin giants Juve to negotiate with both clubs, but they remain hopeful that a deal can be thrashed out in the coming weeks.

Head coach Antonio Conte is blessed with a string of star-studded internationals and his midfield boasts the likes of Sanchez’s compatriot Arturo Vidal and coveted France star Paul Pogba.

However, he is determined to build on last season’s successful defence of the domestic title and make a mark in Europe.
