Spurs and Arsenal contemplate Agger move

Football Express News understands that North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are contemplating a move for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.

Danish defender Agger has been strongly linked with a move away from Anfield this summer with those reports having gained pace after the arrival of Dejan Lovren from Southampton.

Agger, who joined Liverpool in 2006 has made over 200 appearances for the Merseyside club but his limited time on the field last season has seen him lose his place to the likes of Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho.

That has led to interest from a number of top European clubs with Barcelona reportedly leading the interest. However, their recent move for Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen has seen Arsene Wenger contemplate a move for Agger.

Joining Arsenal in considering a move are rivals Spurs, who have recently agreed a deal for Mateo Musacchio from Villarreal.

Agger is understood to be happy to join another Premier League side, whilst he has stated his wishes to make a move to Italy or Spain in the past.

The Danish international is thought to be valued at around £15m.
