Man United boss hints at Cuadrado bid

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has hinted that he could be set to make a summer move for Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado.

Colombian international Cuadrado has been heavily linked with a number of top European clubs this summer with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Man United all credited with interest.

The former two have since softened their interest in the Fiorentina utility man but United are edging closer and closer to making a summer move.

And, boss Louis van Gaal has remained coy on talk that a bid has been submitted, telling reporters: “I cannot talk about Cuadrado, because if I say something about him the price will rise.”

Cuadrado enters the new season after having a superb World Cup campaign with his country that saw him and James Rodriguez provide a constant threat against opponents, almost helping their country reach the semi-finals.

The winger/full-back is destined to leave Fiorentina this summer, but a debate over his asking price is continuing to rumble on with Barcelona having recently ended their interest to the increasing value.
