Inter Milan have ruled out the possibility of signing Barcelona full-back Dani Alves, despite reports linking them with the Brazilian.
Daily Catalan newspaper Sport claim that Alves, who will be told by Luis Enrique that he is no longer needed at the Camp Nou, is being courted by both Inter Milan and Liverpool.
It is understood that the Brazilian would prefer a move to England but his move to Anfield will depend on Brendan Rodgers’ chase for Javier Manquillo of Atletico Madrid and the future of Glen Johnson, who has reportedly received offers from elsewhere in the Premier League.
A fee of £5m has been set for the former Sevilla man with the La Liga club keen to get Alves huge wages off their books for the new season.
However, Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausillo has stated that the Italian club are not interested.
“Dani Alves is not in our plans,” he told Sports Mediaset.
