Liverpool told to pay £19m for Wilfried Bony

Football Express News understands that Liverpool have been told by Swansea City that they must pay £19m for Wilfried Bony.

Interest in the Ivorian striker this summer has been heavy after he impressed for Swansea City last season, scoring 16 Premier League goals in his debut season.

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have been Bony’s largely interested clubs with the latter keen to spend some of their cash received for Luis Suarez on the former Vitesse striker.

However, after negotiations with Swansea City over a deal, it is understood that the Welsh club will not budge from their £19m transfer fee, despite reports in English media on Tuesday saying they would.

Instead, Liverpool must now go back to the drawing board and discuss whether or not to make an improved offer.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has already added Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi to his side this summer.
