Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu has joined German side Stuttgart on a season-long loan deal.
The former Barcelona midfielder will spend a second successive season away from Stamford Bridge after completing a loan move to Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
Romeu left Barca to join Chelsea back in 2011 but spent last season on loan with Valencia.
The Catalan put pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal with the Blues last month, but Chelsea are now believed to be unsure of his future at the club after the arrival of another former Barca man – Cesc Fabregas.
A statement on Chelsea’s official website confirmed: “Oriol Romeu has today [Monday] joined Stuttgart on a season-long loan.
“The midfielder, 22, who recently signed a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge, heads to the German top flight.”
