Alexis Sanchez compares Arsenal to Chile

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has revealed the reasons why he signed from Barcelona, comparing the Gunners with the Chilean national side.

Following three successful seasons with La Liga giants Barcelona, Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez decided to leave the Camp Nou and join Arsenal this summer in a £35m deal.

The former Udinese man arrived in North London last week and undertook training with his new team-mates, before making his debut against Benfica in the Emirates Cup on Saturday.

Another game followed against AS Monaco on Sunday with the attacker impressing the onlooking Gunners fans.

And, he revealed the reasons why he chose to join Arsenal in the club’s official match programme for the game against the Ligue 1 giants.

“I was told that he is a manager you can learn a lot with. He wants to achieve great things in football and that helped me make the decision to sign for Arsenal,” as quoted on HITC Sport.

“Arsene Wenger’s style of play is a little bit like that of the Chilean national team. Therefore I am used to it.

“Arsenal plays very well, they play good football and that fits with my style. That’s why I came here.”
