Football Express News understands that Liverpool are set to announce the completed signing of Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid.
The young Spaniard will move to Anfield on a two-year loan deal pending a medical which is set for Monday morning, although Spanish champions Atletico Madrid have the option to recall him next season if they wish.
Negotiations between both clubs had been ongoing since the turn of the summer after Reds boss Brendan Rodgers made his feelings known regarding his full-back areas.
Glen Johnson, the regular right-back at the club, has been in indifferent form of late and Rodgers is keen to use Manquillo as a means to pressure the English international for a place in the team.
Manquillo, 20, will arrive at Anfield on Monday and is likely to be announced as a Liverpool player later that afternoon.
Further talks at Liverpool claim that the Reds are now closer than ever to completed a move for Alberto Moreno from Sevilla, after long discussions since the season ended in May.
