Liverpool tease Atletico Madrid’s Cazorla interest

Football Express News understands that Liverpool are pushing Atletico Madrid to make a move for Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla.

Reports this summer have claimed that Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla could be sold by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as his options in midfield and the more advanced attacking areas improved with the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.

Spanish champions Atletico Madrid have shown interest with Diego Simeone keen to bring the former Malaga man back to his native country, but talks of a move have since silenced in recent weeks after Atleti struggled to sell Arda Turan.

Turan, who has played a huge part in the club’s recent success is wanted by a number of top European clubs but does hold a large asking price, one that the Spanish giants wanted to use on the signing of Cazorla.

Liverpool – Turan’s biggest fans are now moving their interest to Cazorla in a bid to tempt Atletico to make an initial offer and lower the Turkish midfielder’s asking price.

Officials at Anfield hope that by showing interest in the Arsenal playmaker, they will be allowed to sign Turan for a smaller fee than first thought.
