Arsenal make a move for Real Madrid defender

Spanish daily AS report that Arsenal are making moves to sign Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been busy this summer with improving his current side to push for a Premier League title success and the arrival of Calum Chambers has somewhat improved certain areas of defence.

However, his tender age and little experience is thought to have pushed the French boss to make a move for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Arbeloa, a player struggling to refind first team football with the European champions.

According to AS, Wenger wants to add Arbeloa and utilise him along with Mathieu Debuchy on the right side of defence and that a move for the former Liverpool man has already been made.

Arbeloa currently has a contract with Madrid until 2016 but it is understood that he could be allowed to leave for a small transfer fee this summer.
