Bayern Munich have discussed the potential signing of Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus, saying they are not in a rush to make a decision over his future.

The German winger has been strongly linked with a move out of Dortmund this summer after impressing highly last season, prompting the likes of Manchester United and most recently Liverpool to make contact with the Bundesliga club.

However, following a serious move by Liverpool officials last week, Bayern Munich, rivals of Dortmund, have discussed their interest in the former Borussia Monchengladbach star.

Bayern completed the signing of Robert Lewandowski from Dortmund earlier this summer, as they did Mario Gotze last summer and Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has discussed a possible Reus deal.

“I like to give myself a year in advance to make transfer decisions,” the 58-year-old told Bild. “But this cannot be done in football any more.

“In the past we have tried to clarify our transfers early, but today the philosophy is different.”
