Former Gunners defender insists Ramsey has another level to hit

Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has spoken about the career of Aaron Ramsey and said that he believes the Welshman has another level to find.

Campbell, now retired was speaking to Goal.com following their release of the annual Goal50 list which saw the Welsh midfielder finish the season as the 18th best player in Europe.

And, he believes that Ramsey, who played a huge part in Arsenal successful FA Cup win last season, can go up a level this coming season for both club and country.

When he first joined the club he was a very shy boy. He got a really bad injury against Stoke and that put him back a couple of years,” Campbell told Goal. “Now he has come back really strongly. He is expressing himself now and his real ability is coming out.

“There are still more levels in him. I like that now the protective shield around him has been broken. That is important to Arsenal and it is important for him to keep on showing who he really is and expressing himself in a proper way.

“That will transfer onto the pitch and ultimately that will be good for Arsenal as well as Wales.”

Goal’s list of top 50 players of last season saw Cristiano Ronaldo named in the number one spot, followed closely by Arjen Robben in second place and Lionel Messi in third.
