Liverpool begin talks with PSG’s Lavezzi

Football Express News understands that Liverpool will begin talks with Paris Saint Germain over the potential signing of Ezequiel Lavezzi this weekend.

Brendan Rodgers defeat in the race for Loic Remy and Alexis Sanchez this summer has not stopped the Northern Irish boss from scouring Europe for a suitable replacement/different option for Luis Suarez, who joined Barcelona last month.

Many names have been linked with the Premier League club but Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi is one of those that have maintained throughout the summer and especially since the World Cup finished in Brazil last month.

Lavezzi is keen to leave current club Paris Saint Germain after struggling to maintain a starting place under boss Laurent Blanc and it is understood that Liverpool officials will embark on Paris this weekend to begin talks.

The former Napoli man has been linked with a move to numerous clubs this summer and it is believed that he would prefer a move back to Italy, however, with the transfer window ticking down and the season approaching, no offers have been made from any of Serie A’s top clubs.
