United target Vidal having medical tests in Turin

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is today undergoing a series of medical tests at the Turin giants’ training complex.

According to Italian source Tutto Mercato Web, the Manchester United target will discuss his future with the club’s hierarchy once the physical exams are completed this afternoon.

Juve are attempting to establish the Chile international’s current condition amid concerns over last season’s injury problems, which saw him sidelined by groin and knee ailments.

He played a leading role in his national side’s run to the second round of the World Cup despite the feeling that he was not fully fit and has now returned from a post-tournament vacation with his family.

The report claims Vidal is the only Juve player undergoing medical tests today despite the return of a host of team-mates.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri will, according to TuttoSport, hold urgent talks with the club’s CEO Beppe Marotta today to draw up a list of replacements for Vidal.

The 27-year-old’s future could be decided in the next 48 hours and Juve are already making plans for his potential switch to Old Trafford.

They will renew their interest in Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin if they fail to stop Vidal joining the Red Devils in a mega-money move.

While Liverpool are also said to have expressed an interest in the player, United are believed to be willing to pay £39.7million to clinch his signature – which is £10m more than the Merseyside outfit have offered so far.
