Liverpool hold meeting and submit Reus bid

Football Express News understands that Liverpool have this lunchtime, submitted a fresh bid for Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus.

The Anfield based club are on a summer spending spree at present and have already freshened up their squad with the additions of Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Emre Can, whilst they have recouped some spending money by selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

Officials from the Merseyside club flew out to Germany on Friday evening, which led to some reports in English press that they were to bid for Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.

However, those reports have been ruled as false, according to our sources in the country, telling us that a move for Reus has instead been made.

Liverpool officials will now wait in Germany to see Dortmund’s reaction to their offer and could hold further talks with the player if all goes according to plan.

Reus has issued a desire to play outside of the Bundesliga in recent times, leading to interest from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United.
