Liverpool have not bid for Xherdan Shaqiri

Football Express News understands that Liverpool have not made a bid for Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Swiss international was already a keen transfer target for numerous Premier League clubs before the World Cup in Brazil last month, but his performances for his country further enhanced his reputation and drew in interested clubs.

Manchester United and Juventus have been heavily linked but according to claims in English press on Saturday morning – a move was made by Liverpool, who reportedly submitted a £14.2m bid to Bayern Munich.

However, our sources have informed us that NO bid has been made for the youngster and that Anfield officials are in Germany for another top European performer.

The news will come as a bonus to Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, who had become concerned that many of the Bavarian squad wanted fresh challenges after seeing Toni Kroos leave for Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are in the process of submitted a bid for an unnamed winger in German football.
