Liverpool’s Remy move stalled due to paperwork issues

Numerous English reports understand that Loic Remy’s move to Liverpool from Queens Park Rangers has been delayed due to paperwork issues.

French striker Remy has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer and it had been expected that he would make a move to the Emirates after holding several positive talks with Gunners officials towards the end of the season.

However, a stall in those negotiations and a refusal by Arsenal to pay Remy’s asking price has now allowed Liverpool to make a move, hoping the former Marseille man can replace Luis Suarez in terms of goalscoring.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers hopes the 27-year-old will join his squad during their USA tour this week, but that will depend on whether the Frenchman can agree terms with Liverpool officials on Monday.

Personal terms and a medical are set after a contract worth 90,000 per week was believed to have been offered.

But, it is now understood that the move has been delayed due to paperwork problems and Remy may not be officially presented or confirmed as a Liverpool player until the middle of next week.
