Arsenal icon Henry parties with fans and attends training

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry partied with Gunners players and supporters before joining former mentor Arsene Wenger for a team training session.

The Frenchman, who now plays for New York Red Bulls, has made no secret of his delight at seeing his old club arrive in the USA for the first time in 25 years for a pre-season tour.

Henry, who is Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer and immortalised at the Emirates Stadium by a statue, accompanied the squad to the Izod Centre in New York where fanatics greeted their heroes.

He then stood alongside the north London outfit’s long-serving manager Wenger and observed training drills.

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey took to social media site Twitter afterwards and said: “Had fun at the @arsenal fan party with Theirry Henry.

“Thank you to everyone who came and made it enjoyable #NY.”

The FA Cup holders will come up against their all-time leading goalscorer in tomorrow’s friendly game against the Red Bulls.

the prospect of suffering defeat against the club where he became a legend has not dulled the Henry’s appetite for the contest at the Red Bull Arena.

And he has already tipped them to challenge for top honours domestically and in Europe next term following the high-profile acquisition of attacker Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.
