Shaqiri insists he will remain at Bayern Munich

Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has informed any potential suitors that he will remain at Bayern Munich next season.

The young attacking midfielder had been linked with a summer exit from German champions Bayern before the World Cup in Brazil but his impressive performances for the Swiss national side during the tournament have seen interest in him further develop.

Premier League side Liverpool have been heavily linked, whilst Juventus officials were also showing interest.

However, Shaqiri has taken to social media Facebook to put an end to his future talk and insist that he will remain with the Bundesliga giants next season.

“Enough with these rumours,” he posted. “I have a contract with Bayern Munich until 2016.

“My agents are in constant contact with the leaders of the club and there is no valid reason to speculate on my future.

“During this period, many things are written, but few are true. I am on holiday and do not speak with reporters or other clubs.”
