Lazio midfielder Onazi on the radar of Southampton

Southampton have joined a whole host of Premier League sides chasing Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi.

The Nigerian midfielder has emerged as one of the most consistent midfielders in European football of late and his performances for his country in Brazil this summer have also gained plaudits from many.

His future at Italian side Lazio has never been doubted but interest from a whole host of English sides continues to cause doubts that he will remain in the Italian capital next season.

Sunderland, Everton, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion have all been linked but it is Southampton, who according to Gazzetta dello Sport have serious interest.

The Saints lost Adam Lallana this summer after the English midfielder joined Liverpool, whilst the sales of Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw have also seen the club lose some undoubted quality.

Onazi could now be set for a summer move to England with new Saints boss Ronald Koeman linked.
