Football Express News understands that Italian side Napoli are ready to make a serious bid for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva and then build their midfield around the Brazilian.
Lucas returned to the Liverpool side after a few niggling injury problems last season but his place under Brendan Rodgers is hardly cemented after the good form of Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho.
Therefore, he is fully expected to leave Anfield this summer, especially now that German youngster Emre Can has arrived on Merseyside.
Napoli boss Rafael Benitez, who worked with Lucas during his time in charge of the English side, is keen to make a summer move and it is understood that he will make a serious offer in the coming days.
