Juventus meet with Liverpool target’s agent

Shaqiri

Juventus will today meet with representatives of Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri with a view to securing a big-money deal for the Bayern Munich attacker.

According to gianlucadimarzio.com, the Turin giants have moved into pole position to land the Switzerland international despite strong interest from the Reds and Serie A rivals Roma.

The report claims Roma will only enter into a bidding war if they sell forward Adem Ljajic, who has a number of high-profile suitors dotted around Europe.

A source close to Anfield told Football Express News the flexible wideman remains on their radar, but they have several targets who play in the same position and will continue to assess their options.

New Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri has identified the Shaqiri as a key acquisition despite the competition to secure his services.

Allegri took charge of the Turin giants last week, 24 hours after the shock departure of head coach Antonio Conte, who had steered them to three successive Scudetto titles.

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are said to be ready to part company with the 22-year-old, as long as Juve or one of the other two frontrunners meet the £15million valuation of the player.

Juve missed out to Roma in the race for Hellas Verona hitman Juan Iturbe, and have intensified their push to strengthen the squad this week.
