Football Express News understands that Hull City could make a move for West Bromwich Albion defender Joleon Lescott after he became unhappy about a lack of transfer activity at the Hawthorns.

Despite snubbing Bruce and the lure of European football less than a month ago, it is believed that Steve Bruce and his team are preparing to swoop again for 31-year-old Joleon Lescott. It has been revealed that Lescott is far from happy at the lack of transfer activity at the Hawthorns following his arrival.

With 26 England caps and over 200 Premier League appearances Lescott’s experience was in high demand this summer. Having been available on a free transfer from Man City, Lescott was touted by a host of Premier League clubs before agreeing to a two-year deal with West Brown last month.

With Lescott choosing to return to his home city of Birmingham, Bruce missed out on his primary defensive transfer target of the summer. However Baggies manager Alan Irvine has revealed “there are big gaps” within his current squad and that the club has missed out on a number of key signings to league rivals leaving Lescott questioning his decision to return to the Midlands.

Having spent over £20m this already summer, the controversial Hull City owners have already proven they are not afraid of spending money to ensure long term Premier League survival and that a serious run in the Europa League is a possibility.

With Lescott unhappy that broken promises may result in a relegation scrap for The Baggies, it is believed that his agent has contacted Bruce to make him aware that he could be open to a move after only 28 days at the Hawthorns.

Hull City chairman Assem Allam has backed Steve Bruce in the transfer market throughout his tenure and it is believed that he is willing to pay a transfer fee to secure Lescott despite missing out on signing him for nothing earlier in the window.
