Arsenal will trump Alexis Sanchez transfer this summer

Arsenal v Fenerbahce SK - UEFA Champions League Qualifying Play-Off Second Leg

Football Express News understands that Arsenal will go one better than their summer signing of Alexis Sanchez this summer and break their transfer record.

The North London side won the FA Cup in May to end nine long years without a trophy and boss Arsene Wenger is keen to build on that success by bolstering his squad this season, having done so already with the signings of Mathieu Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez.

Chilean winger Alexis was Arsenal’s second highest transfer, behind German Mesut Ozil, who arrived from Real Madrid last summer and despite making the signing of the Barcelona forward this summer, it is understood that Wenger will break the club’s transfer record in the coming weeks.

The French boss saw his own future discussed towards the end of the season and it is thought that he wants to go out on a high by winning the Premier League, prompting club officials to search for a lucrative summer signing that will send a clear message to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Who that may be is anyone’s guess, although the Gunners have been linked to Sami Khedira, Angel Di Maria and Karim Benzema this summer.
