Chelsea offer one-year deal to Drogba

Morgan-Schneiderlin

Football Express News understands that Chelsea have officially offered Didier Drogba a one-year contract to return to the club.

The Ivorian striker has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge this summer, but also to Italian sides AC Milan, Juventus and Roma in recent weeks.

Drogba left Turkish giants Galatasaray at the end of the season and is now set to arrive back in London to discuss terms on making a sensational return to the Premier League.

Fondly remembered for his final kick in Chelsea shirt, which saw them crowned Champions League winners over Bayern Munich in 2012, Drogba is wanted by Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho, who hopes his return will give the Blues a boost heading into the season.

Chelsea failed to push runners-up Liverpool and eventual Premier League winners Manchester City last season for the title, but the signings of Cesc Fabregas, Filipe Luis and Diego Costa make them a sure contender for the title next season.
