Di Maria gives thumbs up to Liverpool

Football Express News understands that Real Madrid midfielder Angel Di Maria has given a thumbs up to Liverpool to discuss a potential transfer.

The Argentine attacking midfielder is set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after falling out with the club’s hierarchy after his exploits with his country during the World Cup in Brazil.

Di Maria heaped heavy praise on compatriot and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi during the tournament, causing Madrid officials to become unhappy with his commitment to the club.

Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain and Arsenal have all shown interest in recent weeks with the former particularly keen to bring the former Benfica man to Old Trafford.

However, it is now understood that following interest from Liverpool, Di Maria is excited to learn more of their interest, planning to discuss terms with the Anfield based club next week.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is currently on a spending spree and has already completed deals for Emre Can, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Lazar Markovic.
