Liverpool officials fly out to Seville for Moreno discussions

Alberto-Moreno

Liverpool officials are travelling to Seville to hold further discussions over the potential summer signing of Alberto Moreno.

The Premier League runners-up have been heavily linked with a move for the Spanish international this summer but Sevilla president Jose Castro denied any such deal earlier this week.

Recent reports in both Spain and England had suggested that a deal was close to completion after the La Liga club finalised a loan deal for striker Iago Aspas.

Despite this, Jose Castro insisted “We’ve completed the operation to sign Iago Aspas and we’ve not spoken at all about Alberto Moreno”.

Although this suggests no deal is imminent, the Sevilla president also said “In football you can’t rule anything out and less so when the window remains open. If a deal doesn’t happen, he’ll remain our player.”

A reported £16m deal was turned down by the Spanish side and it is now understood that Liverpool officials will attempt to agree a move over the weekend.
