Following the whirlwind exit of Juventus boss Antonio Conte and the announcement of his successor Massimiliano Allegri, the Juve fans are up in arms over the appointment of the former AC Milan man – who they are branding a failure before his work has even begun.

A huge crowd of angry Italians gathered outside the stadium today to protest and demand their money back on season tickets.

They have been singing anti-Allegri songs to mark their displeasure over the arrival of the man who was fired by their Serie A rivals halfway through last season.

A string of uninspiring results saw former multi-title winning heavyweights Milan fade into insignificance halfway down the table, and Juventus fans – understandably – are sceptical of his integrity and concerned he will not have their club’s best interests at heart.

Fully aware of the unrest caused amongst the Juve followers, their new chief has vowed to win them over assuring them he will work hard and prove he is 100% committed to the success of their club.

In his press conference he said: “It’s an honour to be here. It was a lightning bolt from a quiet sky.

“I am happy and I know how important this job is. Juventus have history and tradition and are building a present and a future.

“I understand the scepticism of the fans. In 24 hours everything has changed. I will win them over with hard work, professionalism and respect.

“Conte meant a lot to this team but the fans will get to know me.

“I am ready for this job,” he added.
