Man United ready to beat Barca to German winger

Football Express News understands that Manchester United are ready to beat Barcelona to the signature of Marco Reus.

The German winger will miss the World Cup with his national side, pre-season and the whole of September after suffering an ankle injury during training last week.

However, that has not stopped the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona with their interest and it is had been the latter who have made the first moves, agreeing personal terms with the former Borussia Monchengladbach star.

But, it is now understood that despite to pre-agreement, Man United, now coached by Louis van Gaal, are ready to offer more money to Dortmund.

Reus scored 23 goals in 43 games for Dortmund last season and the German club have indicated that they do not want to sell, but substantial offers from both Man United and Barcelona may change their stance.

The 25-year-old is expected to return to action at the end of September.
