Vidal

Football Express News understands that Manchester United are aware of Liverpool’s quiet interest in Arturo Vidal.

Louis van Gaal’s side have made the Juventus midfielder their number one signing this summer but developments in a move have since silenced after the Chilean made wage demands deemed too much by the Old Trafford club.

Juventus, who are willing to sell Vidal, have been in negotiations with United in recent weeks but with problems over wages and other factors, it now seems that a potential deal has taken a step backwards.

That has led Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers to appoint one of his officials to monitor the situation closely and take advantage of any slip up by their Premier League rivals.

The Anfield club are on a summer spending spree and have already signed Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic.

But, with the sale of Luis Suarez, Rodgers is ready to spend even more cash and hopes that United fail to lure the Chile international to Manchester.

United are fully aware of Liverpool’s interest and will hold a board meeting on Wednesday morning to discuss the next step in the signing of Vidal.
