Juventus in crisis talks about United’s Vidal pursuit

Conte

Juventus head coach Antonio Conte is heading for urgent talks with the board over the future of Manchester United target Arturo Vidal, according to reports in Italy.

TuttoSport claims the 44-year-old wants answers from directors amid speculation that the Turin giants are ready to sell Vidal to the Red Devils if they meet the asking price.

Serie A champions Juve are believed to have resigned themselves to the fact that United’s £750million sponsorship deal with German giants Adidas puts them in the driving seat to land the Chile international.

The player is yet to rule out a switch to the Premier League during the summer transfer window and while Conte wants to keep one of his star performers for the 2014-15 campaign, his employers are said to be more open-minded.

Conte will also discuss the club’s ongoing pursuit of Hellas Verona hitman Juan Iturbe, who he hopes to add to his squad in the coming days following several weeks of negotiations.

New United manager Louis van Gaal is ready to step up the Old Trafford spending spree now he has finished his World Cup assignment with Holland.

They have already snapped up midfielder Ander Herrera and defender Luke Shaw from Athletic Bilbao and Southampton respectively, and Vidal is at the top of the Dutchman’s wishlist as the rebuilding work continues.
