Wenger ready to move on from PSG snub

Coman

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to buy a back-up midfielder before the summer transfer window slams shut, Football Express News has discovered.

The Gunners, who are on the brink of landing Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira, missed out on Paris Saint-Germain prodigy Kingsley Coman, who has revealed he also snubbed Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Bordeaux in favour of joining Juventus.

While it came as a setback to the north London outfit, a source close to the Emirates Stadium told FEN they will turn their attention to other targets who operate in the same position in the middle of the park.

The insider revealed scouts have scoured Europe for the best young talent around and several names are in the frame to fill the void left by Coman’s rejection.

The 18-year-old, who became PSG’s youngest ever first-team player in 2013, told French publication L’Equipe: “I thought a lot before making the decision to leave PSG.

“There was Arsenal, Liverpool, Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Bordeaux after me. Bordeaux promised me playing time but it’s too late, I have already pledged myself to Juventus.

“In Paris I trained with great players and I do not think there is a big difference in standards between the two teams.

“It was not an easy decision, and at the Parc de Princes I realised my dream. PSG will always remain the team of my heart, but it was too hard for me in Paris.”
