Liverpool move in on FOURTH Saint

Jay-Rodriguez

Southampton are fast-appearing something of a feeder club to Liverpool, with a FOURTH Saints player reported to be hot property amongst powers that be at the Kop.

Jay Rodriguez, who plays as a winger or centre-forward, could be the next player tempted away from the south coast by dreams of playing Champions League football in Merseyside, according to reports that have emerged this morning.

Southampton have already lost two key members of their attack force in Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert and should a deal be struck between the two clubs for the 24-year-old it would make Rodriguez the third Saints player change allegiance or possibly even the fourth, should Liverpool choose to up the stakes for defensive target Dejan Lovren and revise their £20M offer that Southampton are believed to have snubbed last week.

Rodriguez enjoyed a successful 2013/2014 season with the south coasters scoring 15 goals in 33 Premier League appearances.

The deal being proposed for the £6.6M-rated player has not yet been revealed but one thing certain is that Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is not likely to be swayed easily by Brendan Rodgers’ Reds, having already stated that the door is firmly closed and no more Saints will be packing their bags this summer.
