United star to leave for Serie A within a fortnight

Evra

Manchester United veteran Patrice Evra will officially become a Juventus player at the end of the month, according to fresh reports in the Italian media.

Tutto Mercato Web
claims terms have been agreed between the Serie A champions and the 33-year-old’s legal team, but he will not break off from his holiday to speed up the process.

Instead, all parties are communicating over the telephone and via email, and the Frenchman will be presented to the press in Turin in the last week of July.

France international Evra, who saw his national side crash out of the World Cup at the quarter-final stage following a 1-0 defeat to eventual tournament winners Germany, is currently on vacation in America.

He has been a key figure at Old Trafford since his arrival from French heavyweights Monaco in 2006, but like many of his colleagues he struggled in the 2013-14 campaign.

United finished the season in seventh position in the Premier League table, failed to win a piece of silverware and sacked boss David Moyes in April.

Successor Louis van Gaal was not in a position to guarantee him regular first-team football after overseeing the acquisition of left-back Luke Shaw from Southampton.

Evra penned a one-year contract extension earlier in the summer, so United will receive a small fee from Juve.
