Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos has confirmed that he will be joining Real Madrid this summer.

The German midfielder performed well for his country during the World Cup and played an important part in helping them win the final against Argentina on Sunday evening in Brazil.

Kroos, who has been heavily linked the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in recent times has been in talks with Real Madrid since the turn of the summer after failing to agree a new contract with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

And, following the success of the World Cup title, Kroos told reporters that he would indeed be joining the reigning European club champions Real Madrid this summer.

“We’ve finished the World Cup in the best way possible. Now I’m going to Madrid, so that’s two dreams achieved,” Kroos told UOL.

The midfielder ends an eight year spell with the Bavarian club, in which he won the Bundesliga on three occasions and the Champions League in 2012/2013.
